Two wrecks reported

TWO SINGLE VEHICLE CRASHES occurred on Rappahannock roads Friday, February 25, and another happened Sunday.

At 6:50 a.m. Friday on Route 606 a half mile south of Flint Hill, Betty Lou Atkins of Washington, Va., operating a 1966 Buick, skidded on an icy curve and struck a rock wall. Damage to the car was set at $300 and no injury resulted. ' The same day at 7:30 p.m., a half mile west of Washington on old Route 211, Clarence Lee Grigsby of Castleton ran off the right shoulder of the road and into a ditch. He was driving a ‘66 Chevrolet to which damage was estimated at $200. He was cited for reckless driving.

Allen Eisen Gould of Richmond struck a cement bridge abutment on Route 522 a mile north of Huntly Sunday night. Gould was operating a 72 Pontiac convertible when* a tire blew out and the car sideswiped the bridge. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

Gould sustained a contusion of the forehead and his daughter, Robin, had a laceration of the lip and head. Trooper W.A. Buntin investigated. □
