Town election in May
A GENERAL ELECTION for city and town officials will be held Tuesday, May 2, of this year. In Rappahannock County this is applicable to the Town of Washington, which has a mayor and council.
According to information provided by the State Board of Elections, the deadline for candidates to file will be March 7 and names of nominess must be certified by March 17.
Applications for absentee ballots must be made March 23 through April 27, and April 1 is the last day on which eligible voters may register to vote if they have not already done so.
The polls are open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. DST on town election day, May 2. □
