Mrs. Carolyn Leake, retiring president of Chester Gap Homemakers Club, on behalf of the club, presented the fire department of that community a check in the amount of $200 when the firemen met Tuesday night. The funds will aid with operational expenses of the volunteer units, the Chester Gap Fire Department and Rescue Squad. The women attended the meeting Tuesday and suggested that the community work together and with the county in the spring clean-up campaign.
