WE DON’T MEAN to be flip with either Professor Jung or Vepco, but it strikes us that these self-serving “growth” projections, by a commercial activity that seems to fairly lust after growth, is a little unseemly. It seems that truly public-minded large companies might perform a more useful service by joining those Northern •Virginia governments which are growing increasingly concerned about unwanted “growth” —the type of growth-for-growth’s-sake which, as has been remarked, is the philosophy of the cancer cell.
