Loudoun’s Board of Supervisors is in court trying to halt a huge development which they feel would harm their county. Fauquier’s Supervisors have asked for a complete review of their county’s master plan, with special emphasis on the lower growth rates that have been experiences in recent years — lower than what some of the planners had projected.
It’s fairly clear that Northern Virginia officials by no means share Vepco’s rather uncritical acceptance of “growth.” Fauquier’s year-long objection to proposed powerline corridors, and Rappahannock’s similar concern, should have told somebody something. □
