MEMORIAL
The Mary D. Slaughter Memorial race was shortened from three miles to two and a half as were all races due to recent weather conditions. Mrs. Raymond Toerge’s Gay Lane got the first call in the blanketed field of six the first turn of the field with shifting between Timber Topper, Eagle’s Top, Carol Lynn, Rebel Rocket and Sparkford Vale.
Crossing the bottom, moving to the second turn of the course, Rebel Rocket moved to challenge the leader, taking the lead landing over the eighth fence. Down the hill to the ninth, then up to the tenth and final fence, Carol Lynn moved her way up passing Eagle’s Top and Timber Topper. Driving from the fence to the wire Rebel Rocket and Carol Lynn moved together with Carol Lynn a half length winner.
Timber Topper was about the same distance over Gay Lane, then an eased up Eagle’s Top and Sparkford Vale.
