Sunday trail ride
THE COLDER THE WEATHER the faster the pace of the Trail Riders of Rappahannock. This Sunday the Riders will be trotting out again at 1:30 for a . brisk 3 hour ride into the auburn hills of Huntly. The footing should be excellent even for unshod horses, so plan to venture out, past hidden lakes and up onto clear ridges where silvered boughs serve only to frame glorious vistas of the Blue Ridge.
To reach the starting point for this week’s ride, head down 522 towards Front Royal, and take the first right past Foster Brothers Packing House onto Route 637. Travel down 637 for 2 miles to the starting point. A firm bank is available for the unloading of big horse trucks. Again, red and white signs will be posted to guide newcomers.
Please arrive on time for club members are too polite to leave anybody behind but those just unloading at 1:30 should be aware that they are holding up the show.
