FIRST OF the regular races is the Double Gate, 3/4-mile on the flat for ladies and gentlemen riding qualified hunters. Among the local entries are . J. Arthur Reynolds’ Gun Gold, Wilbur Shumate’s Mr. M. and Jeannie Dryer’s Favor Cross, who will be up against the likes of Alfred Smith’s Jette-aterre and Lite Hill. Getting special permission to ride is 13-year-old Anthony Price, Loudoun Hunt, on Irish Model.
Next is the ladies’ race with last week’s winner, Ready Snodgrass, on another of Randolph Rouse’s good horses, Buen Paisano. Also competing in the twomile timber race are Mrs. Archibald Kingsley on Golden Power, Bonnie Beach on Beau Gret, Pam Ramey on Balfour.
Mrs. George Strawbridge will be riding either her Sow-em, who was second in this race last year, or Lost Lamb.
