Trail Riders

A SPECIAL MEETING of the Trail Riders of Rappahannock has been scheduled for 6:30 Sunday evening, March 4, at the fire hall in Flint Hill. The public is invited and all club members are urged to attend. The focus for the meeting will be the Rlue Ridge Competitive Trail Ride, sponsored by the North American Trail Riding Conference, and slated for the Memorial Day weekend. The upcoming 30-mile ride marks the first time that a nationally sanctioned ride has ever been held on the East Coast and a California judge had to be “imported” just for the event, which will be held at Huntly. Two films on competitive trail riding will be shown Sunday night for the purpose of acquainting everyone with the spprt in which the “prime requisite is a well-conditioned, calm horse.”

ANOTHER SPECIAL offering of SundayShight’s meeting should be a talk by Dr. Matt Graves on Equine Infectious Anemia. EIA could develop into a very horrifying epidemic within the state of Virginia but it has less of a chance if horse owners are acquainted with symptoms, available tests, and prophylactic measures.

Plan an early dinner Sunday night. The trail ends at the fire hall in Flint Hill. D
