Commissioner Vern L. Hill of the Division of Motor Vehicles, warns Virginia motorists who moved their residence lastyear and failed to notify the Division, that they must inform DMV of their new address promptly, or expect to experience delays in buying 1973 license plates.
“We have had thousands of the recently mailed renewal applications returned to us by the Post Office,” says Hill, “because the car owner no longer resides at the indicated address.”
To avoid last-minute delays or long waits at Division offices, vehicle own ers should notify a local DMV license agent, branch office, or the Central Office in Richmond immediately. Change of address notification should include all 1972 license numbers, as well as both old and new addresses, including zip codes.
