FEEDER CATTLE SALES—It’s sign up time for the first go round of area Feeder Calf and Yearling Sales. Consignment forms for the Madison Yearling Sale to be held September 20 are available from your Extension Office.
Calf prices have continued to climb. Haven’t seen anything remotely resembling the current price situation since the early nineteen fifties. One way of hedging your risks could be to market your heavy early calves during September and hold back your lighter calves for the October or early November sales. If you are selling directly from the farm, make a careful check of the current market before agreeing on a price.
