July 1, all Virginia residents 18 or older, and who do not possess a valid driver’s license, will be eligible to apply for a special identification card, which DMV will issue at branch offices and license examining stations. The Division has been offering ID cards to the blind for almost two years.
Commissioner Vern L. Hill says that the new DMVID cards are designed to “fill an urgent need for identification among adults who do not have a driver’s license.” The cards will display the owner’s name and address, date of birth, * sex, signature, and will include a color photo. Complete with plastic case, the cards will be valid for five years and will cost $5.
