Amissville firemen opened their annual fundraising carnival last night, Wednesday, and it will continue through Saturday night. Tonight's leature, Thursday, is the grand parade scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Floats, bands, marching units, majorettes, fire and rescue equipment and much more will be included in the parade lineup. A bbx supper will be available at the food stand following the parade, as well as other foods. Hotdogs, hamburgers, drinks, desserts will be sold each night. The midway will provide rides and entertainment for all and games of skill and amusements will be featured also. A selection of wholesome fun and games will be offered the public.
Friday night will bring the selection of carnival queen from among the junior contestants vying for the title.
The awarding of prizes will headline events Saturday with the grand prize, a 1973 Ford Pinto, climaxing events. Other prizes offered are a portable television and four $25 Savings Bonds. The public is invited to attend the four-night festival which helps to provide funds for operation and maintenance of the Amissville Fire Company and Rescue Squad.
