Beef Cattle Marketing Specialist, reports there is a tremendous amount of speculation, rumors and some activity in the feeder cattle market at present. We are both particularly concerned about some of our cattle producers selling or contracting their cattle without full knowledge of what the market is. Prices are erratic with wide variations quoted but mostly all kinds of cattle have been moving higher. Following are quotations of feeder calves and yearlings sold through Midwestern terminal markets on August 8 and 9.
