To hate the Army Corps of Engineers in a detached sort of way for spoiling natural rivers becomes habitual. But I had never paddled these long 30 miles. If I had been fishing the riffles and islands intimately, the trip would have required four to five days.
This is too much river, all of it woodlinedand completely unspoiled, just to cut off. □
