A HEAD-ON collision Saturday on the Washington by-pass claimed the lives of two motorists, a woman from Luray and a young man from New Jersey.
Leta Frank, 57> of Luray, a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Woman’s , Army Corps, was one of the victims when she went down the west bound lane of the dual highway in the wrong direction. She was driving a 70 Buick and crashed head-on into a 69 Fiat driven by Steven Tarlowe of Clifton, N.J. He —^was also killed in the col*'s^TTsion. Tarlowe was 22, a law. student in the Metropolitan area.
Injured in the wreck was Ellen Lee Rautenberg of Sands Point, N.Y. who is in Culpeper Memorial Hospital in satisfactory condition, according to Trooper R.A. Baines. She sustained a broken collarbone, broken ribs, fractured right hand, lacerations and bruises and bruised kidneys. She was a passenger in the Tarlowe vehicle.
Miss Frank and Tarlowe were transported to Warren Memorial Hospital where they died. An autopsy was performed at the medical center in Fairfax but results have not been
