What caused the error in the heavy weekend traffic is not. known and perhaps will never be.

A REAR END collision occurred west of Washington on Route 211 October 19 involving Karl Burke of Washington in a 72 Ford pickup and Henry Jackson of Sperryville in a 68 Buick. Jackson ran into the back of the truck. His car was totaled and damage to tie pickup was set at $400 by Trooper Baines, who said charges are pending.

A chain reaction collision occurred in Sperryville Monday as the fall and holiday traffic continued heavy throughput the day.

Albert Wicks of Reston in a 69.Opel was stopped to make a left turn into Baldwin’s West End Shell Station. Behind him a 69 Plymouth operated by Paul Jones of Dahlgren was also stopped.

THE JONES vehicle was struck from behind by James Sours of Luray in a 71 Ford which in turn caused the Jones car to strike the Wicks vehicle, according to Mr. Baines.
