Opening fox hunt

THE PARADE of hounds which will take place at 9 a.m. on the long sloping lawn of Stonehaven, home of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Muth, will mark the formal opening of the Rappahannock Hunt’s 1973-74 foxhunting season. The October-November Fixture Card of the Rappahannock Hunt published time and location of the meets set for this Fall.

A note on nomenclature for those who have recently entered the Fox Hunting World may be of interest: A “fixture card” is an official card giving the location of weekly meets fixed for specific dates and times by the Master of a recognized hunt. Each recognized hunt is allotted a geographical territory by the Masters of Foxhounds Association of America, over which no other recognized hunt is permitted to cast hounds. The Rappahannock Hunt’s official territory includes almost all of Rappahannock County, a part of Culpeper County and a part of Madison County. □
