son is the Annual Fox Drag Race and Horn Blowing Contest held at the A. Lawton Blankenbaker farm at Haywood. The excitement is set to begin Saturday, November 24, at 10 a.m., and participants are welcomed from the county and out-of-county.

Following the contest, a homestyle hunt breakfast is available at the Blankenbaker home.

Prepared by Mrs. Lawton Blankenbaker, the menu consists of country ham with an abundance of vegetables and a real speciality through the years—spareribs and sauerkraut served with “crackling” bread.

Trophies will be awarded at the annual banquet usually held in March, but no date has yet been scheduled. The handsome walnut trophies from Keller and George in Charlottesville are engraved and decorated with a specific dog figurine. A special award in the Beagle Trials is a sterling silver tray awarded the Grand Champion.

THE WILDLIFE Association offers a trophy to any member of the organization who legally kills a deer with the largest head.
