A MILD confrontation is expected when sewer solutions for Sperryville are discussed at a December 12 workshop. The 11 a.m. meeting next Wednesday in the Culpeper Town Council chambers is sponsored by the RappahannocR-Rapidan Planning District Commission.
Planning commission consultants Hayes, Seay, Mattern and Mattern recommend that a “sewage stabilization pond’’ be located near the confluence of the Thornton and North Fork Rivers. The pond, with chlorination facilities, would serve the Sperryville study area. The engineering firm says that federal and state grants amounting to $101,175 could finance most of the project, with the remaining cost, to be funded Jby the locality, coming to only $17,850.
