Basketball season
opens on Friday
THE RAPPAHANNOCK County High School basketball team will open the 1973-74 season Friday, December 7 at Montevideo High School. The Panthers will be looking to better their record of five wins last year.
Senior Harry Jordan will be leading the Panthers in his fourth season as a starter with the varsity five. Returning Junior, Dale Frye is expected to add ball handling experience at the guard position.
Also expected to see action in guard posts are Roger Dodson, Mike Tupper, Bob Titchenell and Jim Massie. As forwards will be Ed Williams, Mike Smoot and John Summers. Andy Nichols is center. Fighting for positions are Jim Lum, Hodge Miller, Jay Miller and Mike Raney.
Adult tickets for the games will be sold at Sperryville Corner Store, Hackley’s Store and Bradford’s Store. Both student and adult tickets will be sold at the high school and the elementary school. See schedule of games.
All tickets guarantee a seat until 7:30 p.m. Doors will be closed after seating capacity has been filled.□
