SPECIAL COMMISSIONER’S SALE of VALUABLE TRACTS OR PARCELS OF LAND IN HAMPTON MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT, RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY, VIRGINIA on the promises back of Pine Knott Inn and on the east of U. S. Route 211 between Washington and Sperryville, Virginia DECEMBER 22, 1973, at 10:00 A.M. Pursuant to and by virtue of a Decree of the Circuit Court of the County of Rappahannock, Virginia, made and entered on October 9, 1973, in the partition suit therein pending under the style of Havanna Grigsby Jeffries, et als. vs. Alethis Grigsby, et al., the undersigned, Mildred Fletcher Slater, Special Commissioner, will offer for sale at public auction to the highest bidider or bidders, on the premises, the following described tracts or parcels of land, to-wit: 1. “A certain piece or parcel of land inRappahannock County, Virginia, Hampton Magisterial District... containing 5.48 acres, more or less...and adjoining the land of Leroy and Alice Porter near the Covington River. The said land is described as Lot of the Daniel Russell Estate according to a plat of J. E. Sutphin dated 1918 and recorded January 10, 1919, in the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County, Virginia, in Deed Book 29, at page 161. H. “A lot or parcel of land situated in Hampton Magisterial District lying on the Covington River between Washington and Sperryville and containing 2.87 acres and also known as Lot #8 in the division between the heirs of Lindsey Grigsby, Jr.” Said land is described in a survey and plat made by Sanuel F. Rixey, Surveyor, recorded January 2, 1937, in said Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 40, at page 406.
