RAPPAHANNOCK County Supervisors agreed last Thursday to catch up on dog warden Jack Bruce’s salary immediately, and tentatively raised the fee scale for dog licenses.
Bruce has not been paid since last March because the fund for his $200 monthly salary was depleted by claims. Money derived from the sale of dog licenses is supposed to pay Bruce and reimburse owners who have had livestock killed by dogs.
The new fee scale is designed to prevent depletion of the fund next year. Meanwhile, Bruce will be paid from the county’s general operating fund. When enough is collected through the sale of licenses, the
