The Panthers bowed to Montevideo in their first game Friday. Both the J.V. and Varsity Team were defeated.
The Varsity Team played a good game against Elkton Tuesday but after much effort they were defeated 80-65. First string consisted of Dale Frye, Roger Dodson, Harry Jordon, Mike Smoot, Eddie Williams with Mr. Ellis as coach.
The game Tuesday night was not a total loss as the Junior Varsity Team came through with their first victory. Under the coaching of Mr. Campbell, they played a great game. A 3 minute overtime was called when the score was tied up 4040. At the end the U.V.’s overpowered the Elks by a score of 47-41. Aubrey Frye was high scorer with 17 points. Milton Fletcher and Ronnie Nicholson both scored 12 points. Barry Atkins, Acy Frye, and Jesse Grigsby each scored 2.
Tomorrow night we will play an away game with the Central Falcons. Tuesday, December 18 will be the next home basketball game with Luray. The
