State law demands that a public hearing be advertised two successive weeks in advance. Due to a "printer’s error,” Thursday’s hearing was advertised only once. The Supervisors went ahead and held the hearing because some interested persons were present. If the supervisors change the policy at the January meeting, the county treasurer will reimburse dog owners who have already paid.
Several persons who attended what they had thought would be a public hearing voiced the opinion that Jack Bruce’s salary should be paid before any claims. Some others doubted that the license fund would be large enough to cover both expenditures, even with higher tag fees.
