A SERIES OF SMALL TORNADOES struck western Loudoun County last Saturday evening, uprooting trees, wrecking power and telephone lines and damaging several buildings, it was reported by the County Sheriffs Department. According to Mrs. Bruce Shaffer, wife of the Hamilton Mayor, the storm struck there at exactly two minutes before six. Other areas hit were the Purcellville and Round
Hill areas. . ✓ Mayor Shaffer said the storm wrecked numbers of trees in tnr Hamilton area, and damaged one car that was struck by a falling tree limb. He said the electric power was off for as long as ten hours in some sections of the town, and that telephones were out in some areas. Traffic was halted, or was one-way between Hamilton and Purcell - vill for several hours Saturday night, and it was reported that windows in several buildings along Route 7 between Hamilton and Purcellville were knocked out. County officials said no personal injuries were reported. □
