LT. GOV. John N. Dalton of Radford will be the Keynote speaker at the 11th annual Animal Industry Day to be held on the Virginia Tech campus Friday, July 19.
An estimated 2,000 persons are expected to attend this year’s event, sponsored
annually by Tech’s Extension Division and department of animal science.
Dalton’s address will be at 10:30 a.m. in the Animal Science Livestock Center located off of Price’s Fork Road, which intersects with U.S. 460 Bypass near the campus.
An open invitation is being extended to persons in agriculture throughout the state to attend the annual event, Arden N. Huff, Tech. Extension specialist and co-chairman, said.
PRODUCERS and suppliers in the cattle, swine, sheep and horse industries are especially invited to attend the event, which will feature research reports for all four species, Huff said.
Huff said this year’s program will focus on forage feeding, pastures, alternate feeding systems and waste management.
Besides reports, there will also be exhibits, tours and a luncheon of charcoaled burger, pork barbecue and watermelon.
