SINCE the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission acts as the area clearinghouse for federal funds in Fauquier, Rappahannock, Culpeper, Orange and Madison counties, a number of plans are needed so the Commissioners can tell the federal and state bureaucracies in charge of funding which projects “fit in’’ with local and regional planning.

So far, a Criminal Justice Plan has been made, although it needs to be updated—it seems Fauquier’s Sheriff’s Department wants a paddy wagon. A Senior Citizen Plan and Manpower Plan are also in the works. These plans haven’t created too much excitement for the Dis
