MRS. BARBARA GENTRY has retired from the position of postmaster of Flint Hill Post Office after 21 years of service. She began her postal career thera on June 10, 1953, and has been active in associated organizations.
During her tenure as postmaster, she has been a member of the Virginia Chapter of the National Association of Postmasters of the U.S. and was editor of the chapter newspaper from 1963 to 1966. The paper received a national citation for excellence in 1965.
For eleven years she has written a column, “The Rambling Reporter” for this publication, and plans to continue. In the National Association she has served on several committees at conventions including work on the Daily Bulletin for six years. Mrs. Gentry was named editor in 1971 of the Postal Quiz, a question and answer page for postmasters, in their national magazine, The Postmasters Gazette.
