One way to solve the labor problem when you have an apple crop to harvest is to advertise “pick your own apples.” Many folk from the metropolitan area did just that after Jonas Jenkins advertised his apples, suggesting a day of family fun in the country. Many families took advantage of the opportunity last Saturday' and Sunday and the weather cooperated beautifully. From Maryland came Mr. and Mrs. Burton Shankman, Andy and Robert. An unidentified woman picks apples from a perch in a tree which has just about been stripped of its gigantic burden of fruit. The trees were heavily laden and the fruit very accessible.
