District Game Biologist Fax Settle says that the deadline for the receipt of applications for hunts on Game Commission managed waterfowl areas is 5 p.m. on October 20. No applications will be accepted after that time. Drawings for the blinds will take place in Richmond, beginning at 10 a.m. on the following day.

A turkey dinner “with all the fixings” will be served Saturday, October 11, between 4 and 5:30 p.m., in the Chester Gap fire hall. Proceeds will benefit the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Charges: $3 for adults, $2 under 12. □
