Mrs. Polly Jane Compton, 78, of Castleton died in Culpeper Memorial Hospital November 11,1975 following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Manie Marion Compton and the daughter of the late Bayliss and Ada Wharton Cloud.
She is survived by her daughter, Miss Sadie Lou Compton with whom she lived; six sons, JohnM. Compton, Albert H. Compton, Warren E. Compton, Edward B. Compton and David D. Compton, all of Castleton and Charles W. Compton of Front Royal; a sister, Mrs. Louise Mathis of Winchester, 33 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted today (Thursday) at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edward Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sperryville Cemetery.
