LATE this fall several Rappahannock County farmers will be asked to participate in a nationwide survey to develop Virginia and United States’ estimates of winter wheat plantings, livestock and poultry numbers.
Mrs. Charlotte Hewitt of Frederick County says that the local producers she will be contacting for the Virginia Crop and Livestock Reporting Service were scientifically selected to represent a cross section of State farmers. Farmers’ responses to interview questions will play a significant part in indicating 1976 production plans for livestock and poultry and will point out acreages planted to winter wheat this fall.
Survey results published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Virginia Crop and Livestock Reporting Service will be especially important to farmers and others in agriculture in light of current supply, demand, and price conditions which impact on production plans.
