REVISING A BIT their action at last month’s meeting, the Supervisors decided to allow the county building inspector to inspect buildings. Since he was first appointed, Fanning Baumgardner has held that post in name only. He wasn’t authorized to make inspections. But last week the Supervisors gave him that authority. “We’ll make the service available” for anyone who wants it,” Pete Luke said. “They pay for it.”
Myron Cromwell was appointed to the county Water and Sanitation Authority and Mrs. Ike Par- ! rish was appointed to the Chapter 10 Mental Health Board. Pete Luke suggested the Supervisors make it a policy to require regular reports from county representatives to appointed boards and agencies such as these. Herbert Foster agreed. “They ought to bring in some, reports. We appropriate the money^ and appoint them.”
Admiral Josef Gardiner, chairman of the county Zoning Appeals Board, requested that a member of the Zoning Board be appointed to the county Planning Commission. But Commonwealth’s Attorney George Davis said the statute didn’t allow such an action.—Pekay Pettus
