The closeup, an artist’s brush pictured last week, was identified by a number of readers, correctly and a number also guessed it to be a turkey’s beard, wbich is interesting for the season. Mae F. Smoot of Washington, Va. was the name drawn from the entries. Others to correctly identify the object included Mrs. Virginia Facchina, Randy Jenkins, Sharon Kay Settle, Everett S. Webb, Robert Priest, Dorothy C. Jordan and Evan Carpenter. Mae Smoot will receive a year’s subscripion to the Rappahannock News.
