IN MEMORIAM
In sad but loving rememberance of my dear father, David J. Racer, who departed this life seven years ago, December 18, 1968. It was hard to give thee up, to part on earth and drink the bitter cup A bitter cup, a hock severe, to part with one I loved so dear. My loss is great, I’ll not complain
but trust in God to meet again From this world of grief and sorrows to the land of peace and rest God has taken you dear father, where you will have eternal rest Your hands are folded, your toil on earth is done Your troubles are ended, your heavenly crown is won I did not know the pain you bore, I did not see you die I only know you passed away and could not say goodbye I cannot tell who next my fall beneath the chastening rod One must be first to let us all prepare to meet our God.
Your loving daughter, Louise
