father and given in marriage by her parents. Her gown was of Chantilly lace fashioned with a scalloped Sabrina neckline, long sleeves and tiered skirt which ended in a Cathedral train. Her pearled headpiece held her elbow length veil trimmed in lace. She wore her grandmother’s pearls and carried a cascade of red and white carnations with holly.
Miss Shirley Kidwell was maid of honor for her sister. Her gown had a cream lace bodice and forest green velvet skirt. Her bouquet was of red and mint green pompons with holly.
Bridesmaids were Miss Debbie Jeffries and Mrs. Carey Kelly of Amissville and Miss Ronda Farmer, the bridegroom’s cousin of Alexandria. They wore gowns of Burgundy velvet and cream lace and carried bouquets of white pompons and pink carnations with holly.
Margaret Farmer of Alexandria was flower girl. She was dressed in burgundy velvet and carried a basket of flower petals. Artie Kidwell of Manassas was ring bearer. Both are cousins of the bride.
Keith Will of Front Royal was best man and ushers were Kim Thomas, and Bryan Settle of Culpeper and the bride’s brother, Roger Kidwell, Jr.
A reception was held at Airlie Lodge, Warrenton and a tiered wedding cake made by Mrs. Geneva Pierson of Amissville was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Alther will make their home in Culpeper.□
