After reading the “Hunters’ Answer,’’ this writer still finds no reason to revise my views on the unsportsman like behavior of some Flint Hill hunters.
A true sportsman is an individual who treats his opponent with fairness. A true sporting contest is one in which each side has a reasonable chance of winning. The use of jeeps, walkie-talkies, etc., termed “progress’’ in the “hunters’ Answer,” creates an unfair advantage for the hunter.
It can’t be seen how any hunter could have pride in “getting his buck” this way. If “progress” is to be favored over sportsmanship, then perhaps more and more people will demand an end to hunting altogether.
It is doubtful whether it is progress or development that is forcing hunters onto the roads to hunt.
