It is more likely the hunters’ lack of consideration for the property owner that closes land to hunting.
Complaints heard locally include wounding does and leaving them on the ground, “jack-lighting,” shooting across private property, shooting too close to a house, shooting from a public road, injured or killed farm animals and hunting on property without permission. As for “attending to our own affairs,” many of us have many more unnecessary affairs to attend to during hunting season just protecting personal property.
Hunting is a sport enjoyed by many responsible sportsmen. It is unfortunate that a few hunters might ruin it for everyone.
