THE Rappahannock Planning Commissioners made an on-site inspection Friday, March 26, of the Lindgren Subdivision in Hampton district to see if the new soil erosion and sedimentation control ordinance will apply to this seven^ loy development.
At a short Planning Commission meeting held Wednesday evening, March 24, Walter Master son reported that zoning administrator Col. Evan McNear had recommended that the Planning Commission visit the site on Route 622, and told Master son that the Commission would receive additional information on the proposed road and slope of the land from the surveyor before the on-site inspection.
“Will we be severely handicapped if we don’t have those surveyor’s figures before we go down there?” asked Chairman Herbert Barksdale. Masterson replied that the Commission members could consider the figures when they returned. “We can judge for ourselves if the slope is over 14% and then check the surveyor’s figures.” Erosion control laws disallow construction if the slope of the land is 14% or more.
No_action was taken by the Planning Commission following Friday’s on-site inspection. Barksdale reported that the commission members had not had the time to discuss the subdivision after their visit. A decision will be made at the next meeting which is scheduled for Thursday evening (April 1), said Barksdale.
