The cold weather and wind Sunday night took its toll in Rappahannock freezing an estimated 75 to 90% of the fruit crop. Trees in full bloom like this were hardest hit and those which were pruned and thinner also suffered most. The wind chill factor was much below the 20 degree temperature recorded.
