CONCERT ATTENDED
Mrs. Roy L. Reeve and daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Leake and children Pam and Daren accompanied by Dean Irvine of Luray, joined Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Brown of Hanover, Pa. and Mrs. Dolly Smith Gossom of Fairfax in Washington, D. C. Monday night at the John F. Kennedy Center and saw the Bicentennial Parade of American Music featuring “Alabama; A Musical Remembrance’’ by the University of Alabama. The Reeve’s niece Eleanor Hedwall was soprano soloist and her husband, Paul Hedwall, the composer. They also attended the reception that followed. Mrs. Reeve is a native of Alabama. □
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED
Hugh J. Racer celebrated his 83rd birthday Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Curtis. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Updike, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Sisk, J. Stant Weaver, Mrs. J. M. Lillard and Mrs. Guy Burke. □
Bake sale
A bake sale will be held at the home of Mrs. Julia Boddie on Saturday, April 17 beginning at noon. The proceeds will benefit the Bride and Groom contest. A Tom Thumb wedding is scheduled for Friday, May 7 at 7:45 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Washington. □
