ACTION was tabled on a recommendation that funding for an investigator for the Fauquier Commonwealth’s Attorney not be approved.
“Can we put this to the Fauquier Board for a discussion before acting?” asked Mcllvaine, who is a member of that Board. “We’ve turned this down once, but there was really not any discussion. Also, there is a dispute between the Commonwealth’s Attorney and the Sheriff.”
Any further planning district action was tabled pending comments from the Fauquier Board. Up to now, the Fauquier Board has only considered the matter in closed-door, “executive session.” Hie dispute referred to by Mcllvaine apparently has to do with an investigation of the sheriffs office which Attorney Charles Foley asked State Investigators to conduct. No final report on this investigation has been released.
