Just as it seemed that the time had come

Just as it seemed that the time had come to pack away winter clothes and pull out T-shirts and shorts the cold weather of this past week brought sweaters and knee-socks back on the scene. It felt like February all over again! The cold weather has apparently had no effect on the progress of any of our sports teams though. Our Baseball Panthers are now 6 and 1 in the District and are still tied for the first place position. On April 22 our Panthers played a non-district game with Warren Co. and lost 12-2 which being a non-district game did not affect their district standing at all. The following day they played the Luray Bulldogs and defeated them by a score of 8-7. On April 26 they met with Randolph Macon Academy’s Team and defeated them by a score of 8-3. And finally, on Tuesday, they were again victorious, defeating Page 5-3. Our Panthers are on the war path for sure—keep it up guys, that 1st place position isn’t so far away! School support at games has been great. Don’t forget our Panther’s next game is Friday April 30 with William Monroe. It is a home game so come and lend your support if possible— it’s always appreciated.

Our Lady Track Panthers have had a couple of victories since our last writing. Our varsity girls met with Strasburg and defeated them 59-51. Outstanding performances by members of the team were: Eleanor Phillips— 1st place in shot put, Nina Metzinger—2nd place in shot put.
