Sperryville; two sons, Eugene B. Atkins, Jr. and Wilbur L. Atkins of Sperryville; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three brothers, Wilson Atkins of Woodville; Virgil L. Atkins of Sperryville and Lindberg Atkins of Fredericksburg; and three sisters, Mrs. Irene Baker of Marshall, Mrs. Paul Alther and Mrs. Virgie Atkins of Sperryville.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronald Wiley and the Rev. Malcolm Maples. Burial was in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred Settle, Roy Leake, Charles Woodward, Thaniel Dodson, Cletus Clark, Maurice O’Bannon, Eddie Harris, and Buster Hitt.

Summons
A funeral for Virginia Bell Summons of Plainfield, N.J., formerly of Washington, Va., will be held Thursday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at Promise Land Baptist Church near Washington, with burial in the family cemetery near there.
The daughter of John Richard Summons of Washington and the late Eva Freeman Summons, she was born February 20, 1927 in Rappahannock County.
Besides her father, she is survived by a daughter, Helen T. Summons; a granddaughter, Shuana V. Summons, both of Plainfield, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Edith J. Bridgett of Plainfield, N.J. and Mrs. Ora L. Ray of Alexandria; and three brothers, John M. Summons, Howard Summons and WU1iam R. Summons, all of Canton, Ohio.D
