WASHINGTON Carnival opened last night and will continue through Saturday night when the awarding of prizes will take place. Highlighting the activities tonight, Thursday, will be the selection of a new honorary fire chief and the naming of Little Miss Washington.
Friday night’s feature is a grand parade which will travel along the old section ofRoute211inthetown. Entries include fire and rescue equipment, majorette groups and singles, bicycles, antique cars, marching units and many more. The parade which begins at 6:30 will be headed by a contingent from the Flying Circus in Bealeton led by a protege of the inimitable and crusty clown, Barron Von Onger in his incredible winged tricycle. Box suppers will be available at the carnival grounds before and after the parade.
