Lou Pendleton of Strasburg and Miss Lena Peyton of Culpeper; two sons, Arthur Peyton of Round Hill and Charles Peyton of Strasburg; 14 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Carter Alsberry Wednesday at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Front Royal.
Burial was in the Good Hope Cemetery in Front Royal. □
Racer
Luther B. Racer of Winchester died August 31, 1976 in Winchester Memorial Hospital. He was 78, the son of the late Richard and Virginia Jenkins Racer of Rappahannock. He was a retired guard with die Virginia State Correctional System.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Newton of Winchester; two brothers, Carroll Racer of Martinsburg, W. Va. and Clarence Racer of Front Royal; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Payne of Washington, Mrs. Anna Fincham, Luray and Mrs. Robert Jacobs of Viewtown.
His wife was the late Josie M. Smedley.
A graveside service will be conducted today, Thursday, by the Rev. William R. Snead, at the Sperryville Cemetery. Nephews will act as pallbearers.
