RLEP meets Friday
A PROGRAM OF INTEREST to all nature lovers and environmentalists is planned for 8 p.m., Friday September 3 at the county court house in Washington. Nature photographer John Trott ml take a break from his current assignment with the National Forest Service of preparing an environmental education program for young people ’to show some of his color slides depicting “Birds and a changing environment.” The meeting is sponsored by the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection and is open to the public. Trott has been studying and photographing birds for the past 25 years. Much of his work has appeared in the National Geographic and other books and magazines. He has been the subject of several private photographic showings in the Washington, D.C. area. Following this presentation, the RLEP will hold its annual business meeting, including an election of officers for the coming year, and reports by its various action committees, including a status report on RLEP efforts to relocate a Vepco high tension transmission line currently planned to bisect Rappahannock County. The public is invited. RLEP members will note that this date is a change from that announced in the newsletter. □
