Ryder
Otis Joseph Ryder. 83, died Monday, August 24, 1981 in the Lynn Care Center in Front Royal. He was a retired farmer and the son of the late Pete and Ella Haines Ryder. Mr. Ryder was a native of Madison County and was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Layton Ryder.
Survivors include’ four daughters, Mrs. Charles Currence of Flint Hill, Mrs. Fred Wise, Bunker Hill, W. Va., Mrs. W. T. Harris. Virginia Beach and Mrs. L. R. Haney Jr. of Barboursville; three sons, Robert and Earl Ryder, both of Gordonsville and Theodore Ryder, Barboursville; 19 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.
Also surviving is one stepdaughter. Mrs. William Shifflette of Locust Grove and a step-son, James Sidney Skinner of Orange. A graveside service will be held today, Thursday, at 11 a.m, in Walkers United Methodist Church Cemetery near Orange, conducted by the Rev. John Farrar. Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper is in charge of arrangements.
