Piedmont Technical Education Center is considering expanding its Adult Basic Education (ABE) program to serve better the citizens of Rappahannock County.
Currently, the center offers free ABE courses to adults with less than a ninth grade education at the school on Route 15, south of Culpeper. Instruction stresses skills in the areas of reading, writing, spelling, arithmetic, and other basic subjects.
If there is sufficient interest shown, the center can operate a satellite ABE program in Washington or Sperryville. The class would meet one or two nights a week for 2'/i hours per night beginning in mid-September and running through April. Interested persons could enroll at anytime during the course of the class.
